Spotiz Cookie Policy

Last update: November 10, 2021.

Thank you for using Spotiz! Your trust is important to us, and we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. The information provided to us helps us provide you with an excellent experience with Spotiz.

Spotiz uses cookies and similar technologies to power, protect and enhance the Spotiz Platform. This policy explains how and why we use these technologies and the choices available to you.

A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your device (e.g., your phone or computer). For example, one cookie may allow us to recognize your browser, while another may store your preferences.

Four types of cookies are used on the Site:

  • The cookies that are absolutely necessary allow you to move around the site and use its basic functionalities. They are generally installed only in response to actions on your part to access services, such as connecting to a secure area of our site. These cookies are indispensable for the use of this site.
  • Feature cookies are used to recognize you when you return to our site and allow us to provide you with enhanced and more personalized features, such as welcoming you by name and recording your preferences (such as your language or region). These cookies collect anonymous information and cannot track your movements on other sites.
  • Analysis and performance cookies allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors to our site and to collect information about how our site is used (e.g., which pages are most viewed by visitors, do users get error messages on some of our pages, etc.). This allows us to improve the way our website works, for example, by making sure that users can easily find what they are looking for.
  • Advertising or targeting cookies record your visit to our site, as well as the pages you visited and the links you followed. We will use this information to display relevant advertisements based on your interests. It is also used to limit the number of times you see the same ad and to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. For example, we may also share this information with third parties (such as advertisers).

These cookies are grouped into two categories of cookies used on the Site: (1) “session cookies” and (2) “persistent cookies”. Session cookies will normally expire when you close your browser, while persistent cookies will remain on your device once you close your browser and can be used again the next time you visit the Site.

We also use other technologies that offer similar functionality to cookies, such as web beacons, pixels, mobile device identifiers, and tracking URLs, to obtain Login Information (as described in the Privacy Policy). For example, our e-mails may contain web beacons and tracking URLs to determine whether you have opened a particular message or accessed a particular link.

I – Why does Spotiz use these technologies?

We use these technologies for different reasons, for example to:

  • Allow you to use and access the Spotiz Platform.
  • Enable, facilitate and simplify the operation of, and your access to, the Spotiz Website.
  • Better understand how you can navigate and interact with the Site and improve it.
  • To provide you with personalized advertising (e.g., on the Site, via email and on third party websites).
  • Send you content (including advertisements) that is more relevant to you.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance, operation and effectiveness of the Site and Spotiz advertisements.
  • Enforce legal agreements governing the use of the Spotiz Platform.
  • For fraud detection and prevention, trust and security, and investigative purposes.
  • For our own customer service, analysis, research, product development and regulatory compliance.

II – Cookies

When you visit our websites, we place cookies on your computer. Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings in your browser. Cookies allow us to recognize you when you return to our site. They also help us provide a personalized experience and may enable us to detect certain types of fraud.

In many cases, you can set your cookie preferences and object to the use of cookies and other data collection technologies by adjusting your browser settings. All browsers are different, so you should go to the “Help” section of your browser to learn how to set your cookie preferences and what other privacy settings are available. Please note that if you decide to delete or decline cookies, or clear the cache, this may affect the features, availability and operation of our sites.

III – Flash Cookies

We may use Flash cookies, or “Locally Stored Objects”, and similar technologies to personalize and enhance your online experience. A Flash cookie is a small data file placed on a computer using Adobe Flash technology. Adobe Flash Player is an application that allows you to quickly develop dynamic content, such as video clips and animations.

We use Flash cookies to personalize and enhance your online experience and generate content for Flash players. We may also use Flash cookies for security purposes, to collect certain site data and to help us remember your settings and preferences. Flash cookies are managed through a different interface than that provided by your web browser. To manage Flash cookies, please visit the Adobe website.

If you disable Flash cookies or other similar technologies, please note that certain content and product features may not be accessible, such as whether your device remembers an Ad you viewed during a previous visit.

III – Spy Pixels and web beacons

Web beacons and web beacons are tiny graphic images and small blocks of code placed on web pages, in advertisements or in our e-mails, which allow us to know if you have performed a specific action. When you view these pages or open an e-mail, web beacons and web beacons tell us that you have viewed the web page or opened the e-mail. These tools help us measure the response to our communications and improve our web pages and promotions.

IV – Server logs and other technologies

We collect a multitude of different types of information through server logs and other technologies. For example, we collect information about the device you use to access our website, the type of operating system you use, the type of browser you use, your domain, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses and the country and time zone in which your device is located. Our server logs also record the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. An IP address is a unique identifier that devices need to identify and communicate with each other over the Internet. We may also collect information about the web site you visited before coming to our site, as well as the site you accessed after leaving our site. These tools help us improve the user experience and ensure the delivery of our services.

V – Device information

We may use information about a device to identify users. For example, we may use your IP address, browser information or other data provided by your browser or device to identify the device used to access our platform. We may also use these device-related techniques to associate you with various devices that you may use to access our content, including for fraud protection and better targeting of advertising.

VI – Third parties

We may also authorize certain business partners to install these technologies on the SIte. These partners use these technologies to (1) help us analyze how you use the Spotiz Platform, such as by tracking the third party services through which you arrived at the Site, (2) market and promote Spotiz services on the Site and third party websites, (3) help us detect and prevent fraud or conduct risk assessments, or (4) collect information about your activities on the Site, other sites and/or the advertisements you clicked on. For example, to help us better understand how the Site is used, we work with various analytics partners, including Google Analytics. To prevent Google Analytics from using your information for analysis purposes, you can install the Google Analytics Disable Browser by clicking on https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout .

Third parties may also use tracking technologies to present you with ads that they believe are most likely to interest you and to evaluate the effectiveness of their ads both on the Spotiz Platform and on other websites and online services. The targeting and advertising cookies we use may include Google, as well as other advertising networks and services that we use from time to time. To learn more about targeting and advertising cookies and how you can disable them, please visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page https://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1, the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page https://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2&lang=EN, or https://youronlinechoices.eu ;To disable Google Analytics for ad display purposes or to customize the display of Google ads, please visit the Google Ads Settings page https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated. To the extent that advertising technologies are integrated into the Site, even if you disable personalized advertising, you will still be able to receive advertising content. In this case, the advertising content will not be personalized according to your interests. On the other hand, we have no control over these deactivation links and are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these mechanisms.

VII – Third Party Social Plugins

The Site may use social plug-ins provided and operated by third party companies, such as Facebook’s “Like” button. As a result, you may send the third party the information you view in a certain section of our Platform. If you are not connected to your account with the third party, the third party will not be able to know your identity. If you are logged into your account with the third party, then the third party may link information or actions relating to your interactions with the Spotiz Platform to your account with the third party. Please review the third party’s privacy policies to learn more about its data practices.

VIII – Your choices

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser settings to refuse them by going to the Help section of your browser toolbar.

Flash cookies” work differently than browser cookies and the cookie management tools available on a web browser will not delete these “flash cookies”. To learn more about how to manage flash cookies, you can visit the Adobe Web Site and make changes to the Global Privacy Settings Panel.
